1 John 2

Paul tells the Philippians, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 
Philippians 1:6

​

God wants us to make progress in the Christian life so that we grow more and more to be like Jesus Christ.

​

In the 2nd chapter of 1 John, we have several indicators that we are moving to maturity.

Here are several ways that we measure whether or not we're growing in Jesus Christ. God isn’t satisfied with us yet. We all have a way to go, but here ways that we can measure our progress.

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
